Training of Trainers

Community Health Worker Training programme

A training programme to increase the knowledge and skills of CHW to develop and implement a range of activities and services to improve access to HIV, STI and viral hepatitis prevention and health care for MSM will be developed and piloted in ten European countries.

  • Four sets of Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops for a maximum of 15 participants each will be developed, organised, facilitated and evaluated. The first round will include the three basic training modules produced by WP9 as well as a set of interactive exercises on attitudes and beliefs and interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, counselling, use of digital technology).
  • The ToT participants from the national training pilot countries will be asked to use the results of the needs assessment in their country to plan their national training during the time period between workshop 1 and workshop 2.
  • The second round of workshops will include the three specific training modules as well as interactive exercises on workshop planning, presentation and training facilitation.

The Training of Trainers workshops are planned for January till April 2018 and will be followed by the ten National Training workshops from May till October 2018.

The consortium partner responsible for the development and piloting of the Training programme is Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe. For any questions please contact Matthias Kuske (matthias.kuske@dah.aidshilfe.de)
